STUDY REVEALS 22% OF DOMINICANS INCREASED INTEREST IN LOCAL TOURISM AFTER THE PANDEMIC
 
															The interest in traveling and discovering new destinations has returned to the lives of many people, following the restrictions implemented in the wake of COVID-19. What is motivating you to go out?, what are the destinations that are most sought after currently?.
In the framework of World Tourism Day that is celebrated today, September 27, the communication firm LLYC carried out a Big Data Analytics study on searches and digital public conversation to know the trends of travel and domestic tourism in three destinations in Latin America: Dominican Republic, Mexico and Panama.
“These search trends were analyzed from 2019 to 2022, to examine significant changes in tourism behavior in the wake of the COVID-19 situation. The mentions in Twitter, Blogs and News of this 2022 group 172 thousand messages from 83 thousand unique users, showing as a result that, due to the health pandemic, travel searches in these three countries were reduced up to 67%; however, the interest in traveling has resurfaced, causing the search volume to increase up to 86%, compared to 2019, explains a press document sent to El Inmobiliario, a digital newspaper.
In the case of the Dominican Republic at 88% compared to its peak of 2018, in Mexico it is currently at 86% compared to the highest peak it had in 2019, and Panama at 82% compared to its peak in 2019.
